Carlton Comprehensive High School has once again joined forces with Habitat for Hummanity to build a house for a deserving family. The CCAP crew is off to a great start as you can see by the pictures. They have taken advantage of the great fall weather we have experienced and to show for it the walls of the house are already up, framing is almost complete and the rafters are ready for a roof!! Stop by and check it out at 579 – 12th Street West.
Today the CCAP bunch gathered for their final day of the house build. They have done an amazing job. Being a part of building a house from the ground up is a true learning experience. Habitat for Humanity was delighted with the outcome and announced they will continue their partnership with the Carlton Apprenticeship Program.
Wow…the Habitat for Humanity House is nearing completion! The mudding is complete and the students have begun painting. The casings arrived today and will soon be ready to be put in place.
Today the crew was working on putting up drywall in the basement. I managed to catch them finishing the ceiling. The stairs were being built for the deck….and wow look at those corners! Check out the math kids…and you think you wont ever use it again!
The CCAP crew defied the blustery weather and started building a deck! The entire main floor of the house has been drywalled and mudding is almost complete. Now to get some heat going!
